Taste of Folly on Folly Beach returns this month

Charleston, your opportunity to drink and eat your way through Folly Beach’s culinary scene is right around the corner with the return of the annual Taste of Folly festival.

On Friday, Jan. 19, the Taste of Folly Cocktail Competition will be in the Pavilion Ballroom at the Tides Hotel (1 Center St.) from 6 until 9 p.m. Some of the best Folly Beach mixologists will showcase their skills and create a variety of fun craft cocktails. Attendees can enjoy appetizers while they sample each drink. Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. You must be 21 or older to attend the competition.

The Savory Saturday event will take place the next day on Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Center Street will be closed, and Folly Beach restaurants will serve up their best dishes and showcase their skills through live demonstrations.

Savory Saturday activities:

  • Hot dog eating + oyster shucking contests
  • Server Olympics
  • One Pot Showdown
  • A chili cook-off

Plus, there will be live music, more than 50 arts, crafts, and fashion vendors, and a kids’ area.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of. Pro tip: Children under 12 and Folly Beach residents can attend for free.
