Local cake artist Julie McAllister, who competed in the show’s third season, has invited her fellow bakers to Charleston to create a hyper-realistic cake art installation inside the hotel lobby of The Loutrel (61 State St.)

Beginning Monday, July 8, through Monday, Sept. 30, the hyper-realistic cake art installation will feature southern dishes and coastal creations. The display is open to the community and free to view. Pro tip: There are signature cake-inspired cocktails at the Veranda Lounge located inside the hotel.

Want to meet the cast? There will be an opportunity to meet and greet McAllister and others who competed in season three on Monday, July 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. Bonus: Complimentary cake + light bites will be served. Although this event is free, attendees should RSVP.
