Where to watch the Kentucky Derby in Charleston this Saturday

The Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, May 3. The race is scheduled to start around 6:57 p.m., so grab your bold, festive Southern attire — here are three parties we recommend in Charleston to watch the race and celebrate one of the oldest sporting events in the US.

Kentucky Derby Party at Islander 71 | 3–9 p.m.

Catch the Derby on a massive 20-foot outdoor screen, with a live MC and DJ, Derby-themed cocktails, a best-dressed contest, and more. Proceeds will support Hope Lodge Charleston, which supports cancer patients and their caregivers.

Kentucky Derby Watch Party at Fiat Lux | All day
Hotel Bennett’s rooftop will host an all-day celebration featuring specialty cocktails, a 360-degree photo booth, and a best-dressed contest. No reservations are required.

Kentucky Derby Party at Prohibition | 4–8 p.m.
Dress to impress and head to Prohibition’s Derby-themed patio, complete with large screens showing the race and live coverage. Enjoy cocktail specials, giveaways, and more. Guests must be 21+ to attend.
