It’s official: Mount Pleasant is getting its own Lowes Foods this month. The Carolinas-based supermarket chain, which currently has one other Lowcountry location in Summerville, announced yesterday at noon that it will open its doors Wednesday, March 27 at 8 a.m.

The 50,000-sq ft. store serves as the anchor of The Market at Mill Creek, a brand new shopping center located at 2110 Hwy. 41. Marco’s Pizza, Starbucks, Fuji Sushi Bar + Grill, Bubbles Gift Shoppe and a nail salon are also set to move into the center.

🕑 This location will be open 24/7 upon opening, before it designates its permanent hours.

Here’s what shoppers can look forward to:

  • The Dockside Fish Market, a fresh fish counter with an expanded selection
  • An outdoor patio with sleek dining tables + chairs, overlooking marshland (unique to this location), as well as indoor seating
  • The Beer Den – where you can purchase craft beer on tap as well as coffee + wine (and even drink while you grocery shop). Pro tip: Plan to stop by on Thursdays for Tap Takeovers. Each week, a brewery will take over, + several of its brews will be available on tap.

Can’t wait for opening day? Lowes Foods is inviting the public to come by the new store tonight (Thurs., March 14), 5-8 p.m., for an ice cream social (with toppings bar, sprinkles FTW) + live music by Chucktown Funk out on the patio.
