It’s almost the new year, Charleston.

We’re so grateful to kick off 2025 with you. As we prepare for a promising new year, we want to know what you want to read about each morning.

Are you trying to find out if your favorite festival is returning this year, or wondering about an upcoming development in town? Is there a piece of Charleston history you’ve always wanted to know about? What news gets you excited about opening our newsletter each morning?

Open

Blanca Estrada Taqueria, a Mexican pop-up restaurant is now open on Beaufain Street by Chef Michael Toscano. Toscano also owns Le Farfalle, Da Toscano Porchetta Shop, and Fugazzi at Revelry Brewing Company. The eatery serves lunch and dinner Wednesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (The Post and Courier)

Tech

M.C. Dean, a global enterprise technology firm, has expanded its operations in North Charleston with a new 25,000-sqft office. The expansion is expected to create jobs and contribute to technological advancements in the community. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)

Try This

On Sunday, Dec. 29, the Stingrays game will feature an interactive experience called Paint the Ice. After the 3:05 p.m. puck drop and the game’s conclusion, fans can paint the ice with Old Charleston Painting Company. Note: game tickets are required to participate.

Last weekend marked the year’s final full moon. Morgan Cowperthwaite IV, a local photographer, captured stunning shots of the full moon rising over Sullivan’s Island. Check out the images.
