A plan that would have brought 340+ homes to the Town of Hollywood, is no longer in the works. The Post and Courier reports the developer withdrew the proposal after public opposition. Hollywood Town Council also passed a six-month moratorium on large-scale rezonings and subdivisions.

Garden & Gun will relocate its headquarters to the Old Charleston Jail this summer. Initially built in 1802, the historic property recently underwent a $15 million restoration and is anchored by the event space Twenty-One Magazine.
Legacy
Folks are remembering John J. “Bubber” Snow III, the former SC lawmaker who helped solidify the shag as the official dance of South Carolina. Snow died on Monday, March 17, in Mount Pleasant at the age of 95. In 1984, he introduced a resolution to make shag the official state dance. (The Post and Courier)
