Did you know Page’s Okra Grill also offers pimento cheese grits? | Photo by Page’s Okra Grill
Pimento cheese — also known as the pâté of the south or Carolina caviar — is a staple here in the Lowcountry. Typically made from cheese, mayonnaise, and pimentos, this dip or spread can stand alone or elevate dishes, sandwiches, and even grits with a generous dollop on top.

We passed the mic to you to learn about the best spots in the Lowcountry serving pimento cheese; then, we took a peek at the menu for a few items catching our eye.
  • Sandy P. recommended Page’s Okra Grill. | Pimento cheese is mentioned a total of 17 times across the restaurant’s brunch, lunch, and supper menus. Try out the loaded pimiento cheese fries.
  • Carolyn G. suggested Roxbury Mercantile in Meggett. | Try this spot’s house-made version of the dip with crackers or on one of its burgers.

🤝 Meet Spencer — he’s a Great Pyrenees + a member of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. He visits colleges and volunteers at MUSC and Roper St. Francis, visiting patients. When his owner, Michelle H., shared his picture and story with us, we just had to share.

What a good boy. Hopefully, after a long day of volunteering, Spencer gets to relax at one of these Charleston area dog-friendly businesses.
