Not familiar with the term? An Agrihood is a residential community built around a shared agricultural space. Residents of Carnes Crossroads have access to local goods, promoting sustainable living and highlighting the importance of supporting local agriculture and the economy.
Carnes Crossroads’ Agrihood includes a working farm, a farm store, and a children’s garden, where residents can get involved in food production and enjoy access to locally grown goods, all within walking distance of their homes.
Not a resident? You can still explore the Agrihood by signing up for a tour on its website. Tours are offered Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. Pro tip: The farm store is also open to the public for purchasing fresh, local products.

Art in the Creek
The Creek Collective, Goose Creek’s new arts and culture center, now open on St. James Avenue. | Photo provided by The City of Goose Creek
Goose Creek has a new cultural destination: The Creek Collective. Located on St. James Avenue, the space is designed as a creative hub for the Goose Creek community, offering art classes, book signings, rotating exhibitions, and special events. Pro tip: Visitors can explore and purchase original works by local artists, with a regularly updated gallery showcase.
The Creek Collective also doubles as an event venue and is available for private rentals, including weddings and celebrations. Its operating hours are Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The building sits on the site of a former wedding and prayer chapel that served the community for over 30 years before closing in 2021. The City of Goose Creek purchased and demolished the structure in 2022. The new building is 140 sqft larger and designed to honor the original chapel’s legacy.
