Today’s Board of Architectural Review — Large agenda shows plans to discuss a request to demolish the former YWCA building on Coming Street between Calhoun and Vanderhorst. Reviving a decaying, vacant home is the goal of Charleston realtor Danielle Stazio’s clients. They are embarking on an intensive restoration project of a 140-year-old home on Wentworth Street. We’re taking on a full, studs-out historic renovation and restoration of a once-forgotten home on the iconic Wentworth Street in downtown Charleston.
Why do you think projects like this are important?
Projects like this are incredibly important, especially in a city like Charleston, where the architecture and history are embedded into the identity of the community. Every restored home is a piece of Charleston’s story preserved. Breathing life back into these old spaces honors the past while allowing future generations to experience the charm and richness that make this city so special.
