Can you hear wedding bells? If so, it’s because The Waverly is open. The new wedding venue and event space features an outdoor veranda, garden, and a 3,000-sqft reception hall with an attached covered porch. Pro tip: There are also two on-site getting-ready suites and a catering kitchen on site.

Closing

Last call. The Post and Courier reports Palmetto Brewing Co., the state’s oldest brewery, will close tomorrow, June 26. The Charleston-based brewery will wrap things up just before the lease on its Huger Street space expires. Read their message to the community.

Did you know? The first storm of hurricane season has formed. Tropical Storm Andrea took shape over the northern Atlantic Ocean — but wait, there’s good news… the storm poses no threat to any land areas, and Andrea will likely dissipate today.

Next month, T.D. McMurry will host a free live music show by local band The Simplicity on Wednesday, July 2. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. The community-friendly event is BYOB, and guests are welcome to bring a chair.
