On Saturday, Nov. 1, head down to Kiawah Island for the 28th annual Symphony Tour of Homes — showcasing arts and architecture. The tour will feature live painting demonstrations, some of Kiawah’s most stunning properties, and, of course, music.
The self-guided tour runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with performances by Charleston Symphony Orchestra League scholarship recipients and professional musicians throughout the homes.
Tickets are available online until Friday, Oct. 31, or at the Freshfields Village Kiosk on Thursday and Friday before the tour. Proceeds benefit the Charleston Symphony and Charleston Symphony Orchestra League Music Scholarships.

We asked, and they answered. Next spring, The Joe will host two games of the 2026 Banana Ball World Tour on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11. The games will feature Loco Beach Coconuts and Indianapolis Clowns. There will be a pre-game party before each game in Brittlebank Park.

Mount Pleasant-based TBC Development wants to build townhomes on Bees Ferry Road. The proposed plan shows 15 of 100 townhomes would be reserved for those who earn at or less than Charleston County’s area median income, which is $110,900 for a family of four. For the first time in nearly a decade, brown pelicans are nesting on Crab Bank. To protect the baby chicks, SCDNR is extending the seasonal closure on part of the island.
On Thursday, Oct. 16, the western end of the island will reopen for public access, while the eastern end will stay closed through Saturday, Nov. 15.
