Shokudô, a new Japanese restaurant, is set to open on King Street on Thursday, Oct. 30. The spot takes over the former home of Macintosh and Maya. Leading the kitchen is Chef Masatomo Hamaya, who was born and raised in Japan and trained at a culinary school in Tokyo. (The Post and Courier)

One of the Holy City’s most iconic landmarks is shedding a layer. The restoration of the historic St. Philip’s Church steeple is almost finished, and most of the scaffolding has been taken down.
