“When was the last time you did something for the first time?” Here’s an idea: get gussied up and swing into spring for the Darius Rucker Big Band Gala at the Gaillard Center on Tuesday, April 7.
The one-night experience promises an elevated Rucker in an intimate concert setting backed by the Robert Lewis Orchestra, conducted by Peter Graves.
“These big band shows are some of my favorite nights as it’s the only time I get to perform so many of the standards we all grew up listening to with the backing of such an incredible orchestra,” said Rucker in an Instagram post.

“The Battery represents our history, our beauty, and our resilience,” said Mayor William Cogswell in a press release. The City of Charleston celebrated the completion of the $71 million Low Battery Restoration Project. The project, funded mostly by the city’s hospitality tax, strengthens and reinforces the peninsula against flooding.
