“When was the last time you did something for the first time?” Here’s an idea: get gussied up and swing into spring for the Darius Rucker Big Band Gala at the Gaillard Center on Tuesday, April 7.

The one-night experience promises an elevated Rucker in an intimate concert setting backed by the Robert Lewis Orchestra, conducted by Peter Graves.

“These big band shows are some of my favorite nights as it’s the only time I get to perform so many of the standards we all grew up listening to with the backing of such an incredible orchestra,” said Rucker in an Instagram post.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the CMA Foundation Music Education Initiatives and Shawn Jenkins MUSC Carolyn G. Rucker Nursing Scholarship Program.
