We don’t want to be dramatic, Charleston, but there’s only one right way to celebrate the holiday season: with ice skating, hot cocoa + all things merry and bright at Credit One Stadium’s Skate the Stadium event series.

Happening Thursdays-Sundays starting Fri., Dec. 2 through Fri., Dec. 30 (Thursdays and Fridays, 5-10 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Sundays, 12-5 p.m.; closed Christmas Day and Fri., Dec. 30), the custom-built rink has something for everyone.

Here are six things to look forward to:

🕺 Themed skate nights

  • Ladies Night + Bubbles on Ice (Thurs., Dec. 8, 7-10 p.m.)
  • 90s Glow Night (Sat., Dec. 10)
  • Jazz Night & Bourbon Tasting (Thurs., Dec. 15, 7-10 p.m.)

🎄 Tree lighting ceremony + celebration

Daniel Island Tree Lighting Ceremony festivities begin at 5 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 2, with the 22-ft tree lighting at 6 p.m. There will also be live music from Charleston Concert Band, caroling + other family-friendly activities off the rink.

🎅 Visit with Santa

The last weekend before the big day, stop by for a visit with Santa on Sun., Dec. 18 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

🎤 Holiday carolers

Catch the holiday spirit with vocal performances from local high school choral groups on the following Thursdays: Dec. 8, Dec. 15, and Dec. 22, 5:30-6 p.m.

🍪 Festive food + bevs

Skaters can enjoy cookie samples, s’mores kits + cinnamon sugar pretzels, warm up with hot drinks (think: cocoa and cider), and order from a full bar stocked with seasonal beer and cocktails.

🎁 Marine Toys for Tots Foundation donation box

Give back for the holidays (and get $2 off concessions) by helping kids in need with a toy donation to Marine Toys for Tots.

Ready to glide? Tickets are $10 per person (includes skate rental and an hour-long skating session; ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult) and can be purchased in-person at the rink or online. Non skaters get in for free.

Lace uo your skates and we’ll see you on the rink, CHS.*

Poll: What 90s song are you (safely) getting down to on the rink?

  1. “…Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears
  2. “No Scrubs” by TLC
  3. “Mo Money Mo Problems” by The Notorious B.I.G.
  4. “Semi-Charmed Life” by Third Eye Blind

We need to know.
