‘Tis the season: Celebrating Halloween in Charleston

Orange you glad the Holy City is a perfect place to celebrate Halloween? Try out one of these seven activities.

We’re a little over two weeks away from Halloween —but Charleston starts the party in advance when celebrating this fun and festive holiday. Today, we’re sharing seven activities for you to carve out and enjoy.

Halloween pop-up bars

Harold’s Cabin | 247 Congress St., Charleston | Through Saturday, Nov. 11 you can see this cozy spot reimagined as an Alfred Hitchcock-inspired space. Oh, and there’s Cabin Butter Beer.

Handcraft Kitchen & Cocktails | 735 Coleman Blvd., Mt. Pleasant | This pop-up bar runs through Halloween and is fit for all ghosts and ghouls. Brave souls can enjoy themed decor and a menu with fun drinks like Witches Brew and Spider in the Spritz.

Haunted experiences

Xscream Scapes | 2340 Air Park Rd., North Charleston | This new interactive attraction is open every Friday and Saturday until Saturday, Nov. 4. Thrill seekers must find Dr. Wells, an eccentric genius who was last seen testing his time machine, while navigating secrets passageways and challenges. Tickets are $36 after 6 p.m. and $30 before.Not recommended for children under 12.

Boone Hall Fright Night | 2434 N. Hwy. 17, Mt. Pleasant, | Until Wednesday, Nov. 29, brace yourself for an evening of terror — if you dare. This year’s three attractions are Carnage, Freaks Unleashed, and The Last Ride. Tickets range from $38-$65. Not recommended for children under 12.

Halloween celebrations

Retro at the Ryder | Little Palm Bar, 237 Meeting St., Charleston | This hotel bar is hosting an 80s-themed Halloween bash with a costume contest on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. The celebration includes South Beach-inspired vintage cocktails and specialty dishes. Prizes include overnight stays at the Ryder Hotel + gift certificates to Little Palm Bar.

Hallowsfest: Biergarten’s Fall Festival | Bay Street Biergarten, 549 E. Bay St., Charleston | On Saturday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., this event is family and dog-friendly and will have a petting zoo, jump castle, pumpkin painting and carving, and live music. Don’t forget to come dressed in your Halloween costume.

Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics | Music Farm, 32 Ann St. | On Wednesday, Oct. 18, enjoy an evening of live music including Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and the themes from “Beetlejuice” + “Stranger Things.” Tickets range from $34-$64.
