Southern Living readers voted Charleston No. 1 in the annual South’s Best awards. The awards showcase readers’ favorite destinations and experiences.
Southern Living added, “The Holy City’s gorgeous architecture, picturesque streets, and welcoming Lowcountry spirit continue to impress year after year…we love every last detail that makes Charleston the shining star it is.”
Other Lowcountry spots were honorees in this year’s South Best’s South Carolina-specific awards, including:
- South’s Best New Museum | International African American Museum
- South’s Best New Restaurant in South Carolina | Vern’s
- Best Islands in South Carolina | Isle of Palms, Kiawah Island, Sullivan’s Island, Folly Beach, and Seabrook Island
