Let’s get down to business, Charleston – the 2020 election is just around the corner. Well, okay, it’s not until Tuesday, November 3, but the last day to register to vote is Mon., Oct. 5.

To register by mail, the form must be postmarked by Mon., Oct. 5.

The last day to register to vote online in South Carolina is Sun., Oct. 4. South Carolina does not offer registration on Election Day.

The last day to register to vote in-person in South Carolina is Fri., Oct. 2.

  • On Election Day, bring one of the following with you, if you vote in person: SC driver’s license or SC DMV ID Card (includes standard license + REAL ID), SC Concealed Weapons Permit, US military ID (Includes all Department of Defense Photo IDs + Veterans Affairs Benefits Card), SC voter registration card with photo, or US passport (Includes US Passport ID Card).

  • Sign up to volunteer with HeadCount, a non-partisan voter registration organization, and help get people registered.
