City Editors Callie + Erika try Élevé’s new cocktail-making class

Grab your pals and get ready to learn and make elevated cocktails yourself.

This group was so fun to take the class with and we love they’re fans of CHStoday.

City Editor Erika here. Last month, we shared about the new cocktail-making classes at Élevé (on top of the Grand Bohemian Charleston). Last week, Callie and I took the class, and here’s what you can expect.

The hands-on classes are led by Maura and Jami, who are both helpful and knowledgeable with their craft of mixology. To kick things off, attendees start with a welcome toast with champagne and small bites. Then comes the fascinating lesson of cocktail history in the Holy City.

The class includes watching the instructors make four featured cocktails and making one of the drinks as a group. Attendees will get to sample all four, decide which one is their favorite, and then make it on their own. Callie and I ended up both made the daiquiri . We took the class with some wonderful individuals who are also readers of CHStoday.

Walking away from the class, I felt more knowledgeable about cocktails, loved learning new things about Charleston, and ready to try to make more on my own.

The classes are every Thursday through Saturday, beginning at 4 until 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $110.
