The Annual Pat Tillman Honor Run in Charleston will take place at the Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island on Saturday, April 20, at 9 a.m. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to join in on the 4.2-mile course around the island. This year will mark the 20th anniversary of Pat Tillman’s passing.

The run pays tribute to the legacy of Pat Tillman. Following the September 11 attacks, Tillman, who played in the NFL, courageously left his athletic career to enlist in the United States Army. He served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan until his death, which was caused by friendly fire.

Runners and walkers around Charleston can support his legacy through the Tillman Scholars, which the Pat Tillman Foundation chooses as military service members, veterans, and spouses who receive scholarships, leadership development opportunities, and access to mentors and peers.

Following the run, participants are invited to the after party “Pints for Pat,” which will be hosted at New Realm Brewing Company (880 Island Park Dr.).

Those interested in the run can sign up online and stay updated on Facebook and Instagram.
