As our community works to collectively adjust to this new normal, we want to share the perspectives of people in the Charleston community who are working to adapt their lifestyles, family dynamics, business models, workflow, + more during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today we’re hearing from Jennarae Breining, a local fitness coach at Iron Tribe Fitness in Mount Pleasant.

How has your work been affected by coronavirus?

My co-workers (other coaches) and I now work from home full-time.

How has your personal life and/or family been affected by coronavirus?

My brother is in the National Guard and has been called to duty to serve at selected COVID-19 testing locations.

What impacts do you think the pandemic will have on your life and/or business as time goes on?

People are canceling their membership to our gym community because we cannot open our doors.

What can members of the community do to support your business and others like it during this time?

We recently launched a free 21-Day virtual challenge that is available to anyone for free. The virtual challenge gives participants access to daily workouts online that require no equipment and can be done from the comfort of their home — plus healthy recipes and nutritional information to keep them on track. We hope to get people to sign-up for our program!

What do you look forward to doing the most once everything goes back to normal?

I cannot wait to get all of our equipment back. We lent each of our members a piece of equipment to use at home to keep some normalcy in their lives.

What message do you have for the Charleston community right now?

Exercise and nutrition are the keys to a healthy life, especially in times like these.
