Erika here. I recently took the Art of Charcuterie: Fall Edition workshop at Juliska, and it was a treat. The flagship store on King Street offers hands-on artistic experiences in the romantic arts, like Floral Arranging, Thanksgiving Wreathmaking, Holiday Centerpiece Creations, and more.

What we tried:

After entering the store, I walked upstairs to the studio and was greeted by Jacob at the Bohemian Bar. Before the workshop, you are offered a drink of your choice (I chose prosecco).

While I waited for the class to start, I admired the beautiful mouth-blown glassware displayed around the studio. (I’m coming back just for the lovely champagne flutes.) Soon after, the rest of the participants joined, and since it was a smaller and intimate class, we opted to do the workshop right at the bar. The workshop was headed by CHS Coastal Charcuterie, and after our instructor introduced herself, we began.

We first were handed our Juliska Forest Walk Gratitude Platter. The platter has a retail price of $98 and is oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher-safe. Next, we were given all of the ingredients + materials to build the perfect charcuterie board.

We followed the instructor step-by-step, listened to her great advice, and learned all the neat tricks to walk away as a confident charcuterie board maker. Now, I am ready to host a holiday party and show off my newfound charcuterie-making skills.

One of the best parts of this experience was learning the dos and don’ts and different tips and tricks of the process to make your charcuterie board stand out.

What we’re still talking about:

When taking this class, you feel like an artist because you begin with ingredients and finish with a work of art. Doing the workshop inside the beautiful, European-inspired space was a plus, too.
