#OnThisDay: The great Snowpocalypse of 2018

Good morning, Charleston. Nothing better than a January day with temps in the near 70s, right? It’s hard to believe that on this day last year, our little city was blanketed in snow.

The rare snowfall lasted several days, shutting down schools + businesses, and even grounding flights. It ultimately went down as the third-greatest snowfall on record in Charleston (topped only by the Dec. 1989 + Feb. 1973 events).

By the numbers:
❄️ 5.3 inches. The amount of snow recorded at the Charleston International Airport.
❄️ 5+. The number of days snow was recorded on the ground.
❄️ 4. The number of days the airport was closed due to the snow.

At this rate, forecasts aren’t optimistic for a January snow this year (never say never, though). So, we asked our readers to share their #Snowpocalypse pictures with us from the 2018 storm.
