Located on Stuart Street, The Waverly offers a space that blends southern charm with modern elegance + features a veranda, garden, and a 3,000-sqft reception hall. The team handles everything from setup to coordination to help make your day run smoothly.

The Orange Hill Planned Development project is moving forward after decades of discussion. The current proposal calls for a 120-home neighborhood and a golf course on Rivers and Bohicket Roads on Johns Island. The Preservation Society’s Burial Ground Mapping Project earned the South Carolina Preservation Service Award for its contribution to the continued advancement of historic preservation. The community-led initiative is led by the Preservation Society of Charleston in partnership with the Anson Street African Burial Ground Project to identify threatened gravesites.

A new waterfront park is coming to Johns Island, thanks to grants, a land donation, and other funding support. The newly-acquired 66 acres will preserve the area’s beauty and ecological health. The park will be managed by the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission.

Carolina Day is tomorrow, June 28, and to celebrate SC’s role in the Revolutionary War, several family-friendly events are happening around the Holy City. Keep reading for a brief history on why we celebrate + how you can get involved.
Carolina Day
Since 1777, folks in the Palmetto State have commemorated + celebrated the victory at the Battle of Sullivan’s Island, which took place on June 28, 1776. Some call the battle the first significant American military victory in our nation’s fight for independence from Great Britain.
