No more going back and forth in the group chat, your lunch decision just got easier thanks to Hank’s Seafood Restaurant’s new lunch service. After 25+ years in the Charleston community, the award-winning Hayne Street spot is now offering its Lowcountry cooking Thursdays through Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Newsletter Callie here, I recently had the opportunity to taste a few lunch items, and here’s what I recommend: Start with the classic Oyster Casino — a warm, briny oyster topped with garlic butter, smoked bacon, Asiago cheese, and toasted bread crumbs — yum. The fresh catch sandwich was one of the best I’ve had; it featured locally caught mahi topped with tartar sauce. Pro tip: Order a side of the collard greens, trust me, you don’t want to miss out on these.
The master-planned community’s stellar location puts residents steps from the small-town charm of Downtown Nexton and Nexton Square, offering everything from fine dining and high-end retail to miles of trails and green spaces.

Charleston’s newest tiny cafe and market has just opened on Rutledge Avenue. The cozy spot is called nook, and it serves coffee, tea, and pastries during the day and wine, charcuterie, and caviar in the evening. Fingers crossed there are a few apple cinnamon rolls left when I stop by.

Award-winning restaurateurs Johnny and Kasie Curiel are opening their next Fonda Fina Hospitality restaurant in Charleston. The new spot will be on the ground floor of The Charlee on Cannon, and will bring Mexico’s coastal traditions to downtown in the summer of 2026.

It’s almost time for the second annual Trick, Treat + Trail Family Fun Run and Festival, and you still have time to register. Next month, there will be a Major League Wrestling show at the Charleston Music Hall. Thanks to Danny McBride, who’s known for his HBO show “The Righteous Gemstones,” McBride’s tequila brand is teaming up with the wrestling league to make Lucha de los Muertos happen on Thursday, Nov. 20.
