The date is set. The Cooper, a highly anticipated luxury hotel, is making its debut on Charleston Harbor next spring and will officially host overnight guests for the first time on Sunday, March 1.
This feels like the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the Holy City.

The city’s first luxury waterfront hotel will be located just steps away from Joe Riley Waterfront Park and boast 191 guest rooms (including 20 suites) curated by designers Champalimaud Design and Atelier Kim.

The Cooper will also offer more than 20,000 sqft of indoor and outdoor event space for weddings, meetings, and other celebrations. We’re eyeing the stunning grand lawn, which can accommodate 400 guests.

Here they grow again. Odd Duck Market, the one-stop shop, is heading to Summerville. In January, folks in the Flower Town will be able to explore the cafe and market that highlights local brands on South Cedar Street. The market is also expanding to the Hampton Park area early next year.

Funnel cakes, freshly squeezed lemonade, and fried foods galore — this could only mean one thing: the Coastal Carolina Fair is back. The annual days-long event is in town tomorrow, Oct. 30, through Sunday, Nov. 9. Keep reading for a guide to all things food, entertainment, and fall fun.
Giving back
Did you know? All the profits from the fair go to community organizations. This year, the Exchange Club of Charleston presented awards that totaled ~$950,000 to 73 local non-profits at its community service luncheon.
The Coastal Carolina Fair is the club’s primary fundraiser. More than $11 million in fair proceeds have been donated to the community since 2003.
