Celebrate the legacy of Dr. King

Save the date. The City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department will sponsor the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. commemorative concert “The Dream Lives On” featuring the choral group Lowcountry Voices on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 5 p.m. This free concert will take place at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church (7396 Rivers Ave., North Charleston).

Open to the public, “The Dream Lives On” will pay tribute to the legacy of Dr. King with musical selections under the direction of Nathan L. Nelson. The Mount Moriah Sanctuary Choir will serve as special guests.

Lowcountry Voices is a performing arts nonprofit comprised of diverse singers dedicated to performing standard choral pieces emphasizing African American music, including Black gospel, jazz, and spirituals. The group performs locally, nationally, and abroad.
