Help surprise hundreds of Lowcountry students

Next month, nonprofit Going Places will surprise 630 students from Goodwin Elementary + Minnie Hughes Elementary with a new custom bike, lock, helmet, and bike pump. But the group needs help with the builds and reveals.

Bike builds

Wednesday, Nov. 29-Friday, Dec. 1 | 10 a.m.-6 p.m. | Bintelli Warehouse, 6900 Weber Blvd., Ladson

  • 40 volunteers are needed per two-hour time slot.
  • Bring a folding table.

Bike reveals

Monday, Dec. 4 | 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. | Goodwin Elementary, 5501 Dorchester Rd., North Charleston
Friday, Dec. 8 | 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. | Minnie Hughes Elementary, 8548 Willtown Rd., Hollywood

  • 80 volunteers are needed to help unload semi-trucks and set up the bikes for the surprise reveals.
  • Going Places and volunteers are asked to stay at the school until the end of the day.
