Meet the Palmetto City Ballet dancers of season nine.

This show is to die for, no really...that’s what they said. Next Saturday, Oct. 21-Sunday, Oct. 22 Palmetto City Ballet is bringing us a spooky + hauntingly beautiful stage adaptation of some of Charleston’s legendary ghost stories in a series called, “Fright Night at the Ballet.” Think: murder mysteries, spirits in graves, and more.

And not only is this one way to celebrate spooky season in the Holy City, it’s also a great way to continue supporting Charleston’s local arts.

Palmetto City Ballet is a professional collaborative arts ballet company headquartered in Mount Pleasant. Its mission is to establish the company as an “indispensable asset of the Charleston community through exceptional performances, excellence in dance training, and community education for all ages.”

In addition to this month’s thrilling showcase, you can catch their performances at the Sottile Theatre at the College of Charleston.

This season on stage

Right in time for Christmas, the company will entertain audiences with the holiday classic, “The Nutcracker” + we heard it’s with a Lowcountry twist. On Friday, Dec. 15-Sunday, Dec. 17, the show will have elaborate sets and festive costumes making it family-favorite way to celebrate the holidays. Bonus: we think tickets will make a great gift.

Next spring, the company will present its newest production, “The Wizard of Oz.” Saturday, March 16-Sunday March 17, enter the magical journey + follow the yellow brick road with Dorothy, Toto, and friends.

If this doesn’t get you excited for all this season with the Palmetto City Ballet, then check out this announcement from the Ravenel Bridge.
