ICYMI, The Blood Connection (TBC) – a nonprofit community blood center based in the Carolinas – is now serving the Charleston area. TBC launched its Charleston presence last month and is now the official blood provider for Roper St. Francis Healthcare system; administering lifesaving contributions to patients in the Lowcountry.

Although they’re new to CHS, TBC is well-known throughout the Carolinas for their quality + service and is accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (licensed and regulated by the FDA). Maybe the best part? All blood given through TBC Charleston will go to local patients in need.

Right now, TBC is only accepting whole blood donations via their mobile centers (popping up at these upcoming blood drives) until construction on their new Charleston donation center is complete (planned to open by the end of the year).

There are two remaining blood drives in May:

  • May 29 | 8 a.m.-5 p.m. | WOW Cable | 4506 Dorchester Rd., North Charleston
  • May 31 | 12-5 p.m. | Habitat for Humanity | 731 Meeting St.

And you can give anytime during the week at their consistent mobile center: 5870 Core Rd., North Charleston (open Monday-Friday, 1-6 p.m.).

Giving blood saves 4.5+ million lives nationwide each year. Learn more about TBC and other ways you can give back (and save lives) on their website. 🆎Ⓟ
