After experiencing schedule changes + formatting adjustments during 2021, the 11th annual Charleston Food Truck Festival is returning this weekend, and they’re not messing around.

In case you didn’t know: This event is kind of a big deal. Not only is this the largest food truck festival in Charleston, but it’s also recognized as the largest food truck festival in the Southeast.

So, what’s the buzz all about? Held May 21-22 across five acres at Tanger Outlets in North Charleston, this year’s free event features more than 35 food trucks, a main bar with craft cocktails, beer, and mimosas, plus two satellite bars at the largest venue in festival history.

The Charleston Food Truck Festival was initially created by food truck owners, for food trucks. Though historically held at the end of January, this year’s festivities will be enjoyed in the late spring. Summer doesn’t officially start until June 21, but this seems like the perfect opportunity to kick off the season a little early.

While the full list of food trucks has not been released, organizers have given a sneak peek at a few of the businesses set to be in attendance:

In short: There will be plenty of options to go around.

Local brewery Palmetto Brewing Company is the official beer sponsor of this year’s eventoffering four brews to choose from, including Raspberry Rewind and CHS IPA.

But that’s not all. The family + pet-friendly event will also feature retail and craft vendors, live music, and interactive performances.

Planning to check it out for yourself? Snap a photo + share it with us. Pro tip: Bring your own chair, blanket, towel, sunscreen, or bug spray as needed to soak in all that the event has to offer.

Happy celebrating, Holy City.
