For #DrinkUpCharleston, we’re issuing a challenge to all the coffee-crazed Charlestonians out there. Our team has created a coffee crawl map because why should pubs have all the fun?

To make this java journey doable, we’re sticking to recommendations in the downtown area. Here are the five locations on the official CHStoday Coffee Crawl.

Second State Coffee, 70 1/2 Beaufain St.

  • Kick off your espresso explorations with a stop at this Harleston Village coffee shop, which is also a great spot to work remotely. Pro tip: Order an oat milk latte and soak up some sun at a table outside.

Mercantile & Mash, 701 E. Bay St.

  • Get an almond milk cortadito with espresso + brown sugar while you dig into an all-day breakfast dish — we’d recommend the House Made City Ham with a fried egg, provolone, and caramelized onions on a sesame croissant.

Kudu Coffee & Craft Beer, 4 Vanderhorst St.

  • This shop by Marion Square serves locally-roasted coffee, beer, sandwiches, and pastries. Pro tip: Pair a chocolate croissant with an iced mocha and enjoy them in the courtyard with fountain sounds.

Sightsee Shop, 125½ Line St.

  • Grab a honey latte to-go at this quaint spot which also sells goodies like books, cards, blankets, candles, and prints. Be sure to snap a photo with your beverage by the rainbow walkway outside.

Baguette Magic, 73 Spring St.

  • This recently-opened location has a charming outdoor patio perfect for sippin’ on chai lattes. Pssst: We hear the Vietnamese Pomegranate Almond Cold Brew makes a great summertime caffeine boost.
