In 2025, we want to keep you engaged and informed about what matters most to you, our readers. Last month, we asked for your feedback on the kinds of stories you want to see each morning. Here’s a look at some of the responses we received:

Events for older adults

  • “I moved to Charleston in September of 2024, and there is so much to love about my new home! I would especially appreciate coverage of things for older (60+) singles to enjoy.” — Edie F.
  • “There is a large senior (over 65) community locally. How about covering the need for events and services for this group?” — Judy H.
  • “Events for seniors and things in West Ashley.” — Jennifer H.
  • “Activities grandparents can do with grandchildren. Painting studios for kids — like a ‘wine and pour’ for adults but kid-style? Would love to find a place in the area that does this.” — Amy D.

Tri-county events

Reader Beth M. suggested including more events throughout the entire tri-county area. Here’s what others added:

  • “Boutiques, and not just downtown” — Kay F.
  • “More Daniel Island coverage” — Dom V.

Festivals, music, and events

We know you love staying up-to-date with Charleston’s vibrant event scene, and many readers mentioned they want us to continue covering festivals, concerts, and local happenings.

City and civic content

Some readers shared wanting more insight into what’s happening in our local government and infrastructure and city plans.

  • “What’s being done about traffic?” — Lisa K.
  • “Updates on the Union Pier Project.” — Jim M.
  • “Potential pedestrian scramble plan project at King and Calhoun Streets.” — Cheryl A.

Food

Charleston’s food scene is always on your radar. Here’s what some readers want to see more of:

  • “Restaurants worth the trip and cost!” — Joanne C.
  • “Unique off-the-grid eateries and watering holes.” — Carl K.

Activities

Some readers are looking for new ways to enjoy the city.

  • “Friday night date night ideas.” — Cheryl A.
  • “Adult activities to make it through Dry January!” — Leandra H.
  • “Off-the-beaten-path day trips from Charleston.” — Amy D.

Small business spotlights

We heard from readers who want to discover Charleston’s hidden gems and support small businesses:

  • “Finding out about a thrift store that’s been here forever or a local hidden gem? That’s what I want to see more of. I want to learn about things I can’t quickly Google.” — Taylor L.

We love hearing from you, and we’re excited to keep writing about the topics that matter most to you. Do you have something you didn’t see mentioned? Let the team know.
