Drumroll, please. TripAdvisor has released its 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards’ Best of the Best in the US list, and the Holy City ranked highly in some of the categories. The website wrote, “Historic Charleston is bursting with Southern charm and hospitality.”

What can we say, Charleston...is it really a surprise? Here’s where we ranked:

Two hotels snagged a spot on TripAdvisors’ Best of the Best hotels in the US.

  • The Loutrel at 61 State St. ranked No. 6 and said visitors will “enjoy peak Southern hospitably” with “spacious rooms and ultra-comfy beds”
  • French Quarter Inn at 166 Church St. came in at No. 15 and was described as a “nice mix of old-world charm and modern comfort”

And Halls Chophouse ranked at No. 3 for fine dining. The steakhouse was described as “serving prime steaks, Lowcountry and fresh seafood specialties in an energetic, visually striking environment.”

Check out all the categories.
