Looking for a dose of inspiration heading into spring?

Make plans to immerse yourself in our city’s creative culture during Art Charleston, happening Wednesday, April 23–Sunday, April 27 at The Gibbes Museum of Art.

The five-day festival highlights the intersection of fine art and high fashion with:

  • Professional workshops
  • Lectures + panel discussions
  • Plus, signature events like the Art of Design Luncheon, Gibbes on the Street, the inaugural Sew Surreal fashion show, and Artisan Fair

Art Charleston’s newest event, Sew Surreal, will feature 10 designers who will design a collection based on a piece from the Gibbes Permanent Collection. Bonus: It’s being held in the stunning Lenhardt Garden + will feature live music. Recording artist Mike B will be gracing the runway with a performance specially curated and inspired by the artwork and designers.

Can’t wait until April? This year’s theme is inspired by current exhibition “Statement Pieces: Contemporary Fashion Design and the Gibbes Collection,” offering a glimpse of extraordinary garments by Alexander McQueen, Gucci, and more.

Pro tip: Museum members get early access to tickets starting tomorrow, Feb. 28.
