There’s a new event space in Awendaw, about 30 minutes from downtown Charleston. The Back Barn, located at Bedaw Farms, officially opens on Jan. 29.

Blending Southern hospitality with a rustic aesthetic, the venue is designed for weddings, corporate gatherings, family celebrations, and other events.

Back Barn is a renovated grain silo connected to a refurbished 1950s dairy barn, offering an open floor plan, high ceilings, and a 30-foot covered pavilion with concrete floors that can host up to 175 guests. Situated on a 40-acre working farm, the property includes various photo backdrops such as woodlands, open lawns, a goat farm, and horse stables.

Available year-round, the venue lets renters choose their own vendors. Pro tip: There’s still availability for 2025 bookings.
