It’s simple to apply, with no essays or recommendation letters needed — just five straightforward requirements:

  • Live in an eligible county (Charleston is on the list)
  • Graduate from a public high school
  • Earn a LIFE or Palmetto Fellows Scholarship
  • Complete the FAFSA and qualify for a Federal Pell Grant
  • Enroll full-time at one of 17 in-state colleges with graduation rates of 50% or higher
