Last year, we rounded up 14 dogfluencers in the Lowcountry, and today we’re hitting y’all with part two of the series. What’s a dogfluencer? These 25 Charleston dogs have over 1,000 followers on Instagram and are a special part of the community.
We asked the pupperazzi (aka owners) for snapshots of these social media-famous pups and they’re all too cute to compute. Heads up: These are just a handful of great pups around town — we think every dog is pretty amazing.
Meeko @ruff_life_of_meeko
Meeko the Aussiedoodle stars in his very own children’s book: “Meeko Goes to the Beach.” Join this pup as he embarks on an adventure at the beach, aka one of his favorite places. He swims, plays in the sand, and meets new friends along the way. Grab a copy. He was a calendar model for Lowcountry Dog Magazine + Doodle Tales and starred in the October 2021 issue of Charleston Magazine.
Stevie @stevieofsullivans
Stevie is a year-and-a-half old Golden Retriever. She’s a local on Sullivan’s Island, and everyone knows this pup around town. Her favorite things to do are swim in the ocean, ride in the golf cart, walk Pitt Street Bridge with her best friends, and get treats at Brown Fox Coffee. Pro tip: Bring your puppy to Brown Fox — you can get a treat for yourself + Fido.
Emma Roo @emmarooonlyhastwo
Emma Roo is a rescued Dalmatian pup who survived the dog meat trade in China. She has been featured in Lowcountry Dog Magazine, a coloring book, and on the local news. When she’s not advocating for differently-abled pets, Emma loves to visit the beach in her cart and make new friends.
Nova May + Loki @huskynovamay
Nova and Loki are snow dogs living their best beach life. These huskies are from Denver, CO. Their favorite things to do are playing in the ocean at Sullivan’s Island and visiting Pitt Street Bridge. They love hanging out and snacking on treats at Palmetto Brewing + Woof Gang Bakery.
Emmy Rose + Luna Bean @ritcheygirl
Emmy Rose + Luna Bean are rescues from puppy mill auctions. They love going to Folly Beach, Sunrise Park, Ellis Creek Fish Camp, and walking around downtown.
Luna Bean was named the 2020 Crown Dog of Charleston by Lowcountry Dog Magazine. She is partially blind and deaf, and has hydrocephalus and laryngeal paralysis — and she is the happiest dog. Emmy Rose will be featured in the Lowcountry Dog Magazine 2023 calendar.
Boston @best_ofboston
His owner said: Boston is the most loving Golden Retriever who is 4 years old and is obsessed with his family, friends and stuffed animals. He loves swimming at Folly Beach, playing at James Island County Park and long walks on the West Ashley Greenway. He loves going to all of the dog friendly restaurants and breweries in the area like Bodega and Frothy Beard, and is a big fan of dog days for the RiverDogs games. We enjoy 2nd Sundays on King or strolling through Hampton Park together. Most importantly, we love supporting and appreciate the many animal rescue groups and shelters inside & out of Charleston.
Jasper @jasperberner
His owner said: Jasper loves Charleston! The IOP beach is his favorite place by far! But he also loves rainbow row — he’ll just sit and wait for all the people to come since he knows he’ll get pets — lol! Same for second Sunday on King — we bring him when the weather is cooler and he loves walking around seeing all the people. He’s a very social dog — lol!
One of our favorite things about Jasper is how much joy he brings others — just seeing the huge smile people get when they see him is amazing. And I think he knows that — he just wants to spread some happiness in the world 😊
Covey @coveythecav
His owner said: Covey is a three year old cavalier King Charles spaniel. He loves going on long walks around downtown and chasing birds at the beach (Kiawah is his favorite!) Loves walking by the water — favorite spots are the Battery and Colonial Lake and shopping on King Street. He never lets a stranger walk by him without saying hi. Very friendly! He loves dining at local restaurants as well. Big fan of 167 Raw and Fast and French 😊
Oh, and he can’t get enough of playing with his dog toys 😉
Zaytoon @zaytoonthecorgi
His owner said: Zay loves the [RiverDogs] games because he gets to meet lots of new friends (and friends from IG in person), gets to eat boiled peanuts, loves the Simba cam, and mom usually gives him a whole hot dog all to himself 🤣
(Editor’s note: Please enjoy this photo of Zaytoon mesmerized by a hotdog.)
Asa @asa_eskie
His owner said: Asa is a rescue American Eskimo Dog from Pet Helpers (on James Island)! He had a ruff past, but is living the dream now with two loving pawrents and a kitty sister. Asa loves long walkies at Charleston parks and digging in sand at the beach!
Mabel @mabelthebernedoodle
Her owner said: Mabel is a 3 year old bernedoodle who loves strolling around the streets of our town. She’s always up for a boat ride too or stopping by the many pup friendly restaurants in town. We recently started volunteering at MUSC with their pet therapy program and have loved meeting new friends who need some cheering up.
Boone @boonethegoldendog
His owner said: Boone loves swimming, fetching and making new friends at the beach! He loves sunset walks at Pitt street bridge or the battery. He’s really loving the summer weather and spending lots of time outside. He’s super friendly and loves meeting lots of friends (both human and dogs)!
Grover @groverthebluetick
His owner said: Grover is a 4 year old bluetick hound. He loves playing on the beach the most - he howls when he’s happy, and everyone finds it quite entertaining. Grover also loves the new dog park at Johns Island County Park, and has made a lot of friends there.
During the summer he is pretty lazy, but in the cooler months he likes to hang out at Low Tide Brewing and get some snuggles. Anywhere he goes he gets a lot of attention and people try to make him howl, since we don’t see a lot of other blueticks around.
Caboose @growingupcaboose
His owner said: Caboose is 6, loves walking in Hampton Park, playing in the surf at IOP and Sullivan’s, or lounging in the grass at White Point Gardens. On really hot days, he might invite you for a soak in the Pineapple Fountain. He just wants to be everyone’s best friend, and his neighbors call him the Mayor because he’s always greeting everyone. If you see him out and about, call his name and he will happily stop in to see how you’re doing!
Brie, Dash, Harbor + Charlie @puppies.n.pinot
Their owner said: I call them my “pack” 😂 All four of them love the beach — especially the Folly Beach County Park & Sullivan’s Island. We love to catch the sunset at Folly! We also love Hampton Park. We miss The Barrel dearly! Two of them have names related to CHS. Charlie is actually short for “Charleston” — I got him right before I moved from NY to Charleston for law school 11 years ago. And Harbor is named after the Charleston Harbor because of my love for maritime law/the law of the sea.
SEWE is by far our favorite CHS event! The past few years Charleston Magazine has sent us to capture and share the experience! Harbor is sidekick for that event but this year Dash joined us as well. At home, Brie and Charlie love to soak in the sun on my back deck while Harbor and Dash play in the backyard - either wrestling, running through the sprinklers, splashing in their pup-pools, or playing fetch.
(Editor’s note: These pups have modeled for local pet boutique Crew LaLa, and Harbor was Mr. April in the 2021 Lowcountry Dog Magazine calendar.)
Louie @louiethebrittany
His owner said: Louie is a 1 year old Brittany living in Ladson, SC. He loves playing fetch at Wannamaker County Park, swimming at Isle of Palms Beach and joining his humans at all of the dog-friendly restaurants in Charleston.

Her owner said: Bella is a Mini Golden Doodle that’s a bit sassy but loves being by her people at all times. Born in the south but currently living in the Holy City. Bella loves to travel and making new furiends. With the sense of style and her own human closet, you’ll most likely see her repping her favorite brands and sometimes even matching her dog mom bestie. Bella’s favorite spots in Charleston probably have to be Folly Beach, rainbow row (for photos of course) and going to Poogan’s Porch for a bite to eat.
Some fun facts are that Isabella is one of @lowcountrydog (s) calendar models for 2023 & isabella is the boss babe of a well known Charleston boutique, @pineapplepawprints find us over @isabellasdoodlediaries for dog-friendly lowcountry lifestyle.
