For the first time, the distinguished Food & Wine Classic will stop in the Holy City. The three-day culinary event will bring world-renowned chefs and celebrities to Charleston, where they’ll join local talent to celebrate the Lowcountry’s hospitality, culture, and exquisite food and beverage scene.

Events

The event starts on Friday, Sept. 27, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 29. Grand Tastings, cooking demonstrations, wine seminars, and panel discussions led by world-class chefs will be hosted at several venues; see the full schedule.

City Editor Callie here. There is so much to be excited about when it comes to this premiere event, especially the Southern Living Lowcountry Tailgate. Some things are certain, and college football on Saturdays in the fall is one of those certainties. This event will capture the pregame tradition just steps away from the Southern Living Idea House at The Dunlin on the Kiawah River.

Talent

The Lowcountry will welcome dozens of chefs, celebrities, and former athletes for the event. Some of those folks include TV personality, chef, and writer, Andrew Zimmern, who has won an Emmy and several James Beard Awards. Al Roker from NBC News’ TODAY will be in town alongside his daughter. Professional athlete and winemaker CJ McCollum is also in the lineup.

Rules + tips

  • FOOD & WINE Classic pass and the official lanyard must be worn and displayed at all events.
  • Passes will not be replaced if lost or stolen.
  • The resale of passes is not allowed.
  • No one under 21 is permitted, this includes infants and children.

Pro tip: Pre-registration for a seminar does not guarantee you a seat, so plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before demonstration and seminar start times to ensure you get a spot.
