Editor’s note: As of Friday, Dec. 15, Red Palm Tavern reached out to the CHStoday team to inform us that the restaurant’s original opening date (Friday, Dec. 15) will be postponed. We will provide updated information when it becomes available.

Red Palm Tavern, an old-style American tavern + sports bar, is opening in downtown Charleston on Friday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. at 45 Romney St., Ste. 100 (former Crust Pizza location). The grand opening is open to the public and free + will feature complimentary treats and live music from Keys and Company.

The dimly lit, cozy space will feature a wood-fire-influenced menu, a covered patio, billiards, darts, and 15 TVs. New owners Tyler Wicker, Beau Sliger, and Jeremy Latta hired Chef Joe Nierstedt for menu development (you can expect to find the shrimp burger). Nierstedt spent ~10 years at three Michelin-starred establishments in the U.S. and abroad.

Owners say their goal was to create a premium pub that you’re comfortable visiting in your work clothes after a day on the job site, in your suit after a day at the office, or even on a date night.
