In case you missed it, the 2023 Roper St. Francis Healthcare Concert Series at Credit One Stadium kicked off earlier this month. The 15 upcoming shows continuing through October feature a star-studded lineup: rock and country legends like Train, Counting Crows, and Dave Matthews Band; plus newer stars like Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers. And it’s no coincidence that this year’s series kicked off on Mental Health Month.

🧠 Music for mental health

For this year’s concert series, Roper St. Francis Healthcare is highlighting the positive impact music has on the Lowcountry with a new initiative, Music for the Mind, calling attention to the benefits of music while raising awareness of local mental health resources. (Plus a special playlist you can listen to on Spotify or Apple Music.)

It’s true: Music therapy has some pretty amazing benefits on mental health and wellbeing. In addition to being the backdrop to some of life’s most memorable moments, research shows that music can make us feel better — lowering blood pressure, heart rate, and even stress hormones in the body. And, music brings people together. It benefits us all, on an individual + community level.

🎨 New this year

Roper St. Francis is collaborating with a local artist on a semi-permanent mural that will be featured on the grounds of Credit One Stadium during the concert series. The mural will be a visual expression of “music for the mind,” based on music’s ability to unite, heal, and make us feel.

Your challenge: Find the mural, see what feelings it evokes, and share a photo on social media (be sure to tag @CreditOneStadium and @RoperStFrancis).
