Good morning, Charleston. The holiday festivities are nearly in full swing with all of the Thanksgiving preparations happening over the next few days. While many of us are excited to spend time with family on Thursday, there are some who won’t be able to spend time with their loved ones at all during the holidays.

Many elderly residents in nursing homes + assisted-living facilities go the entire season without a visit from friends or family, and PruittHealthan assisted-living facility in Moncks Corner – is helping to prevent lonely holidays.

The facility is encouraging the community to take a little time this season to write a holiday card to residents to brighten their day. ✉️

However, there are many who won’t be able to get postage or make it to the post office. So, we are asking the community who can’t send physical cards to email us a short message for residents. The CHStoday team will write + mail the cards to PruittHealth in your name.

Research shows that loneliness may shorten life expectancy, and ultimately, no one wants to spend the holidays alone. A simple act of kindness can go further than you know.

If you prefer to send a card, PruittHealth’s address is:
505 S. Live Oak Dr.
Moncks Corner, SC 29461

Most nursing homes + assisted-living facilities welcome letters to residents, so don’t hesitate to research others in the Charleston area to spread holiday cheer to.
