Looking for a way your business or organization can make a difference in the community? The Blood Connectiona regional, nonprofit blood donation organization that just expanded to Charleston – can help you organize something you, your coworkers, the public + locals in need will all feel good about. We’re talking about hosting a blood drive. Bonus: They make it super easy.

Whether you’re a nonprofit, government, educational or corporate organization (even a local festival), you only have to follow these three steps:

  1. Pick a date to host the drive.
  2. Pick a location for their bus to park.
  3. Spread the word about the drive beforehand (tip: send an all-staff email + create a Facebook event).

The Blood Connection will provide everything else – mobile buses, equipment + trained professionals. (Even snacks, water + ‘TBC Local Donor’ t-shirts for folks who donate.)

Another tip: Offer incentives to encourage donations from your own organization + the public (on top of the free snacks). Last month, the South Carolina Aquarium + SC Parks Service hosted a drive and offered free aquarium admission to increase donor numbers – and they had enough donors that day to save up to 42 lives. Hosting a blood drive with some cool incentives can increase awareness of your organization or attract locals to your biz, as well as building morale within your org.

All blood donations from drives with The Blood Connection go to local patients at Roper St. Francis Healthcare, making life-saving blood transfusions possible + helping save lives right here in Charleston.
