Woogity woogity. Season four of Netflix’s “Outer Banks” has dropped, and to celebrate its release, the cast held a red carpet + screening right here in the Holy City. Fans lined John Street and the surrounding block to get a glimpse of their favorite Pogues and Kooks.

In past seasons, several Lowcountry landmarks have been spotted, and this season is no different. In the first episode, you’ll spot the historic Pitt Street Pharmacy, but the familiarities don’t stop there — you may also recognize some of your favorite Charleston brands.

We chatted with Missy Johnson, the artist + owner of Black Octopus Mercantile in Park Circle, who shared, “I work with the Set Decoration Crew so you may spot some of my T-shirts, hats, hoodies, and stickers rockin’ the Pogues’ Kildare Surf Shop.” Johnson has worked with the crew all four seasons, look closely and you will spot the stickers on John B.’s Twinkie Van on the panel behind the front passenger seat. Pro tip: The shop has a set of stickers dubbed the “Pogue Pack.”

Johnson told CHStoday, “It has been a lot of fun being one of the local businesses OBX works with. It’s been cool seeing my art on the show.” But when it comes to the show itself, Johnson’s favorite character is John B. saying, “He rolls kinda like I do when it comes to family, friends, and how he treats people and situations. I’m a total ‘coast kid’ as my friends call me, and love everything to do with my southern heritage, the ocean, and adventure.”

Psst... we asked the cast members about their favorite Charleston restaurants — stay tuned for their answers.
