Every year, the weekend before Thanksgiving, the cozy town of Seagrove, NC, welcomes visitors from around the world for its beloved Pottery Event Weekend.

This seasonal celebration in “The Handmade Pottery Capital of the United States” is a true potter’s paradise, with three jam-packed days of craftsmanship, creativity, and fall fun — all sitting just a short, scenic drive up the road from Charleston.

🏺 The Seagrove Pottery Festival

Now in its 43rd year, the Annual Seagrove Pottery Festival brings together artists and craftsmen from across North Carolina.

Visitors will love browsing the bustling potters market for one-of-a-kind finds (perfect for holiday shopping), bidding on signed pottery from award-winning makers at the auction, and sipping + nibbling local eats while watching master potters at work.

🎨 Celebration of Seagrove Potters Show & Studio Tour

Over at historic Luck’s Cannery, the Celebration of Seagrove Potters Show & Studio Tour brings three days of activities. Guests can explore an indoor pottery showcase or take to the road with a free self-guided studio tour around Seagrove.

For a first look and early shopping opportunities, consider snagging tix for Friday’s annual gala, featuring festive drinks, pottery previews, a catered reception, and a live auction with special pieces made collaboratively by local potters.

📍 100+ local studios

Seagrove’s thriving pottery community isn’t just big — it’s the largest in the US, with multi-generational studios passing down craft secrets dating back 100+ years.

Bonus: Every piece you purchase directly supports this local artisan community and helps keep the traditions alive.
