Grits are a staple of the south, and Geechie Boy Mill’s take the cake (literally, if you make a grits cake). These Edisto-based grits are served up at various local restaurants (Rappahannock Oyster Bar, The Grocery, Millers All Day) and can be bought at local retailers (Lowcountry Olive Oil, Mercantile and Mash, Bert’s Market). Geechie Boy also offers other products such as preserves + corn meal.
Granola + cookies

Annie O Love Granola boasts a menu of all things granola – that are 100% vegan + gluten-free. While you can buy just the granola, one of the most popular items are the various cookies offered – with names like “Gangsta O’Love”, “Get Woke”, + “Dat Fly Nectar”. These yummy treats can be found at the James Island Sunday Brunch Farmers Market, pop-up shops, or ordered online. 🍪
Pizza
Dough Boyz Pizza, locations vary

This mobile pizzeria was founded in 2017 when owners were casually serving up homemade pizza to friends in their backyard. The pop-up can be found slinging pies at the Johns Island Farmers Market, Low Tide Brewing, + private/public events. Bonus: If you visit their website you can explore with a pizza-shaped cursor 🍕.
BBQ sauce
Melvin’s Barbecue, 538 Folly Rd, James Island + 925 Houston Northcutt Blvd, Mt. Pleasant

A local favorite since 1939, Melvin’s Barbecue serves up barbecue, ribs, + more at its two locations. The restaurant is known for its “Big Joe Bessinger’s Legendary Golden Secret Recipe Barbecue Sauce”, which can be purchased in-house or online.

Body butter

This local bath + body shop creates affordable, handmade products inspired by the sea. With products ranging from bath bombs to perfume, two of its most popular items are the lotion + body butter – which can be found in scents such as coconut milk, seaweed + sea salt, and even fragrance-free.

These unique candles were invented after a Charleston local wanted to do something with the empty bottles of wine being recycled from the restaurant at which he worked. The outcome – wine-scented candles that became a sensation. Rewined now sells matches, soaps, + more at the Charleston City Market, local retailers, + online. 🍷

You can’t stroll through the city streets in CHS without noticing sweetgrass baskets. These intricately hand-woven baskets are a staple of Charleston, and can be found at various farmers markets, street corners, + more.

Have all your party needs fulfilled by this adorable downtown shop, which happens to be the only balloon shop on the peninsula. Pro-tip: snag any last-minute gifts, curated to represent local artisans, prior to checking out. 🎈
