Psst… Hey Charleston, we’re going to let you in on a little secret. A new place to take care of business is coming to town. Enter: Switchyards, a space cozy like a cafe that oozes chic, professional, and productive vibes.
Switchyards Charleston will open on Monday, April 28, giving members a spot to call home, we mean work. Full disclosure — the space is for more than just finishing that big presentation — you can also hang out, read a book, or grab a coffee.
The neighborhood work club is launching its first Charleston location on Rutledge Avenue, next to Hampton Park. The space will feature high ceilings, skylights, and a cafe area for collaboration and meetings, along with a library designed for work that requires deep focus. Fun fact: The 5,000-sqft building was once a supermarket back in the 1970s.
You won’t have to worry about stopping for a caffeine boost before heading in; members get free locally roasted coffee, available 24/7.

CEO and Founder Michael Tavani said “There’s a growing need for that ‘third place for work’ in this city and beyond — a space that’s not your home or office, but somewhere to mix it up. Charleston is one of our favorite cities in the world, chock full of iconic neighborhoods, so it was an obvious choice for us to plant a flag here.”
How do you join the club? Memberships go live on Thursday, April 24, at 10 a.m. Pro tip: Sign up for early access to memberships and sneak peek invites.
