Just in time for summer, The Indigo Road Hospitality Group plans to open Riva Mare, a new coastal Italian rooftop restaurant in the Charleston Design District at Navy Yard Charleston.

The concept was inspired by fishing villages along Italy’s Ligurian Coast and will serve Lowcountry seafood with European influence. Think local seafood, we’re talking crudos and whole-roasted fish.

Pretty soon, we’ll be sipping a cocktail atop Storehouse Nine.

The restaurant will sit atop Storehouse Nine and overlook the Cooper River — it’s also the first full-service food-and-beverage option to join the multi-phase Navy Yard Charleston redevelopment.

Stay tuned for who will lead the culinary team and an opening date. Until then, get a sneak peek of the space on Saturday, March 14, during Historic Charleston Foundation’s annual Charleston by Design fundraising event. Riva Mare will host an Insider’s Pass luncheon offering 100 guests a preview of the space.
