Baker Motor Co. — a luxury auto dealer in Charleston — recently purchased ~9 acres of land in Mt. Pleasant to the tune of $5 million. The owner of the company, Tommy Baker, plans to develop a “high-line dealership” on the property. Tommy is a Charleston native and Citadel alum.

Baker Motor Co. sells Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Maserati automobiles — just to name a few.

The land is located near Wando High School in Carolina Park at U.S. Highway 17 + Carolina Park Boulevard and was formerly owned by Carolina Park Development. Tommy also owns a nearby Mercedes-Benz dealership and the property at 1601 Savannah Hwy.

No timeline has been released yet for the new project in Mt. Pleasant.
