Mount Pleasant Library’s renovation + grand reopening

Charleston County Public Library wrote the book on awesome libraries around town — and one branch just got a few key updates. If you’re reading this, you’re invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony + grand reopening of the newly-renovated Mount Pleasant Library this weekend.

The branch, located by the Queensborough Shopping Center, closed in May 2021 to undergo upgrades. The effort is part of an ongoing $108.5 million project to build five new libraries and renovate all existing branches. The project is referendum-funded.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Sat., Aug. 6 at 9 a.m. and feature speakers from the library and Charleston County Government, plus elected officials.
